šŸ”§ Which Hot Tub Pump Do I Need?

One of the most common questions we receive is "How do I know which pump fits my hot tub?"

Choosing the correct replacement pump doesn't have to be difficult. There are a few key details you should check before ordering.

1. Identify the Manufacturer

Most pumps are manufactured by brands such as:

  • LX Whirlpool
  • Waterway
  • Aqua-Flo (Gecko)
  • Balboa
  • Espa

The manufacturer's name is normally printed on the label.

2. Check the Horsepower (HP)

Common pump sizes include:

  • 1 HP
  • 1.5 HP
  • 2 HP
  • 3 HP

Always replace your pump with the same horsepower unless advised otherwise.

3. Voltage

Your pump will normally be either:

  • 230V (most common)
  • 115V

Using the wrong voltage can damage your spa.

4. Measure the Plumbing Connections

Most UK hot tubs use:

  • 1.5" unions
  • 2" unions

Take a quick measurement before ordering.

šŸ’§ Choosing the Right Hot Tub Filter

A clean filter is one of the most important parts of keeping your spa water crystal clear.

Replacing your filter every 12 months (or sooner if damaged) helps your hot tub run efficiently and keeps your water healthy.

How to Identify Your Filter

Look at:

  • Height
  • Diameter
  • Top opening
  • Bottom thread or opening

These measurements are enough to identify almost every filter.

Signs You Need a New Filter

āœ” Dirty water

āœ” Poor water flow

āœ” Cloudy spa water

āœ” Dirty or damaged pleats

āœ” Filter won't clean properly

Cleaning Tips

We recommend rinsing your filter weekly and using a dedicated filter cleaner every month.

A spare filter allows one to dry while the other is in use.
